Has the Mexican government lost control of the northern border? See Border Turning Into a War Zone:
"The breakdown in law and order in Mexican border towns is creating a warlike atmosphere, as gunmen openly move about, and open fire in the streets. Some border governors are demanding help from the army, to man checkpoints and help control the movements of heavily armed groups of drug gang members. The army already supplies troops to accompany federal agents making arrests or conducting raids."
Unfortunately, the border violence spills over to Texas, New Mexico and California.
Also, border disorder is an invitation to terrorists. See Back door to terror By Oliver North:
"Titled "A Line in the Sand: Confronting the Threat at the Southwest Border," the just-released report confirms what many have long suspected: Our border is a sieve, not a barrier, for radical Islamic terrorists transiting into the United States. The Investigations Subcommittee charges that from Sept. 11, 2001, to the present, hundreds of illegal aliens from countries "such as Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan and Afghanistan" were apprehended crossing into the United States."
Question: Why wouldn't terrorists try to cross the border?
We need to get over political correctness and see border disorder as an opening for terrorists.
Also, Mexico is not immune from these terrorists either. Let's remember that terrorists look for soft spots and a Mexican city on the border may be an ideal target for a WMD.
